AkinyemiLaw Songwriters Competition (The 6th Edition) – Terms and Conditions
CONDITIONS
ONLY NIGERIAN AND GHANIAN SONGWRITERS AND RECORD PRODUCERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS SONGWRITERS COMPETITION.
Competitors are required to compose an original song based on the theme ‘COME TO MY PARTY!’ The song must creatively incorporate this theme as a central focus.
The beat shall be at 110BPM TO 120BPM.
Entries should not be more than 90 seconds (a verse & a chorus).
This is a tag-team competition. Every producer must team up with a songwriter to submit an entry. This means that only one person cannot compete even if they are able to make a beat and write all the lyrics.
Beats submitted must be an original beat created by the producer.
The song written, performed and recorded must be of the highest quality in the genre of Afrobeats, Highlife, Amapiano, Fuji, Juju, Reggae, or any other genre indigenous to Nigeria and Ghana.
This is a song contest that would be judged based on the quality of the beat, lyrics, melodies, originality, vocal performance, relevance to the theme, production quality and the transmission of emotions.
Acappella recordings are prohibited.
All applicants must affirm that they are not currently subject to any recording, publishing, or similar agreements, or any other contractual obligations that could impair or infringe upon the organizers’ exclusive right to commercially release the songs submitted in connection with this competition.
By submitting any works in this competition, the submitting parties hereby represent and warrant that:
The submitted works are entirely original.
The submitting parties hold full ownership and control over the works, free from any claims, encumbrances, or third-party interests.
Applicants agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the organizers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to any alleged or actual infringement of third-party rights in connection with the submission of their work.
By submitting works, applicants hereby grant Amelia Songs, upon mutual consent, the exclusive right to commercially release, distribute, and control the submitted works, should they be selected.
